This is a nice letter from our friends at the Anzchutz Medical Campus of the University of Colorado Cancer Center.

Happy New Year All!

Thanks to all of you, we were once again very successful in our clothing drive during the month of Aug 18 - Sep 18.  Through the generosity and help of Fred and Susan Baker at Heritage Cleaners,  we were able to make a very generous donation to each of the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in the Denver metro area.  Additionally, this year we started a new phase of our organization called,Warmest Holiday Greetings.  We collected monetary donations with the help of a dear friends and corporate sponsors.  Those fund enabled us to purchase several hundred red scarves, hats and gloves and our favorite, black and red plaid flannel drawstring pants and red and black Henley shirts.  We were able to deliver a healthy dose of warmth to the University of Colorado Cancer Pavilion at the Anschutz Center on December 22nd.

We thank my sister, Marjory Wilson, who donated the proceeds of her painting, Melissa's Roses, in any form, to the Gifts of Warmth for Melissa.  You can purchase note cards or prints of any size.  Thank you to all of my other siblings, nieces and dear friends who prepared packages filled to overflowing with hats, gloves, scarves, socks and especially to those who made them fun and exciting for the children with cancer.  You have no idea what dazzling, grateful smiles you have brought to so many faces.

While we are still a grass roots family organization, with my daughters and I doing all the pick up and deliveries, I have to tell you it is the best part of every day, knowing we are keeping someone warm as they fight against cancer.  To be able to look someone in the eye, someone who is scared, weak and shivering and say, "Hi, this is for you, a gift of warmth from Melissa.  God Bless you!"  is the best thing I have ever done.

If you know of any person, company or corporation who would like to join our organization and fight to keep cancer patients warm, please let me know or direct them to our website.  We are putting together information packets and launching the new and improved website on Feb 1, in conjunction with the Out of Denver magazine article.   Please take a look in February at www.giftsofwarmthformelissa.com.  You will soon be able to follow us on Facebook as well.  We are hopeful the article, the new website and all of us talking about it, will generate some warm corporate sponsorship and we can continue our work to keep these cancer warriors warm in their fight.

Thank you for your love and support and for your very generous donations.  Your gifts are greatly appreciated.

This was Melissa's inspiration and will continue to be our joy.
